Hi, I’m David,
As a professional psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience, I can appreciate the position you’re in. The search for a therapist can be exciting. It can also feel a little intimidating.
But it doesn’t have to.
I’ve worked with people as they’ve faced some of the greatest challenges in their lives. In the process, I’ve come to one important realization: the key to effective therapy is your comfort. When you feel comfortable in therapy – with the surroundings, with your therapist, and with the emotional climate that is set – you can gain the ability to bring real change into your life.
That’s why I strive to create an environment that is warm, respectful and “easy” – a space where we can have honest, meaningful and even playful conversations. I don’t “treat patients” or deal with “disorders.” I communicate with people and I commit myself to helping them discover and achieve their goals.
My approach is to provide a respite from the world so the people I work with can experience the essential elements necessary for realizing their full potential and discover or reclaim their authentic selves. It’s an opportunity for them to step outside of the stream of things, so to speak, and get their bearings. Then they can jump back in with a better sense of who they are and what they want, which can lead them to a greater sense of meaning in their relationships and in life in general.
If you have any questions or would like to set up an appointment, give me a call. And thanks for taking this first step with me.
